Fire Risk Assessment

Fire Risk Assessments Legislation is ever changing, and now the onus on supplying a Fire Risk Assessment report lies with the tenant of the building rather than the owner (if he/she is a different person). This is primarily to ensure all employees remain safe at all times. C|S|M can complete these Fire Risk Assessments as part of your pre planned maintenance programme ensuring you remain completely compliant.

We must state here that although buildings are hugely important the accent must firstly be on the saving of life.

Our team of experts are always qualified and experienced in whatever field they are required to enter into, and carrying out fire assessments plus their subsequent reports comes as second nature to them.

As responsible people our team must carry out and regularly review a fire risk assessment of your premises on your behalf. This will identify what you need to do to prevent fire and keep both buildings and people safe.

Carrying out the assessment

Firstly, the C|S|M team, maintenance contractors in London, will advise you that you must keep a written record of your fire risk assessment if your business employs 5 or more people, and during their assessment they will be involved in the following:

Identifying fire hazards and any people who may be at risk.

Evaluate, remove or reduce all risks.

Record their findings, prepare an emergency plan and provide training.

They must review and update the fire risk assessment regularly, which can be a part of your pre-planned maintenance should you wish it to be. Please give C|S|M a call on that as we can be a great deal of help to you. Perhaps we can help with some maintenance works too.

We believe that companies who enter into pre-planned maintenance contracts for their workplace with ourselves benefit financially as opposed to those companies who just prefer “one off” services.

There are certain things which need to be considered during a fire risk assessment, and it is easier if our team can work in conjunction with a responsible member of your staff to obtain the best results for your company.

We need to establish the easiest emergency routes and exits

We routinely check fire detection, warning systems and fire fighting equipment

We advise on the removal or safe storage of dangerous substances

By liaising with your staff we develop an emergency fire evacuation plan

Again, with your help we see to the needs of vulnerable people, eg the elderly, young children or those with disabilities

Our team provides information to employees and other people on the premises about all new developments made during the assessment.

C|S|M gives you peace of mind

Because you are busy, your staff are busy, and finding the time to do your own Fire Risk Assessment will mean taking yourself/a valuable member of your staff off a job for some considerable time, and even when completed does the final report comply with the law?

The C|S|M team are fully conversant with all aspects of the National law and local government regulations, so we strongly suggest that it is in your best interests to involve us from the start. Involving us ensures that both yourself and your workforce can have peace of mind in knowing your business premises are 100% legal so far as fire risks are concerned.

Will a Fire Risk Assessment interfere with normal working?

This is a possibility more than a probability, but the best way to find out is to request a free visit by one of our safety team who will be able to advise you about this more fully and they could also advise you on some of our other services if you want to ask them about what we do - air conditioning for example.

If there is a chance of severe disruption then you always have the option of having the work carried out in the evenings and weekends.
